Competition Winners

The judging for the first Writing Successful Short Stories competition for 2004 has now been finalised. Congratulations to the winning authors who submitted three great short stories, your prizes are on their way!

If there were any justice in this world, all of the several dozen entries to our competition should have found a winning place. Unfortunately, we could choose only three from what was a superior entry list. In fact, the judges were both amazed and delighted at the high standard of entry.

However, if you didn't quite make it this time, please do continue to take part. Entries are now open for the second quarter which closes at the end of June 2004. Like they say: if you're not in, you can't win!

Anyway, without further ado, our winners, in reverse order are:

3rd Third Prize. Winning £25, Lorraine Mace, France, for "Best Served Cold". Click to Read.
2nd Second Prize, Winning £75, Stephen Kimber, UK, for "Be Nice to the Dogs". Click to Read.
1st First Prize, Winning £150, Tom Barnes, UK, for "Bunkle". Click to Read.

Their cheques are in the post!

Come on, folks - get writing. You could pick up the next top prize!

Sincerely,
John Powell.

Don't forget, there's three more chances to win this year! Click here for how to enter.
